Jeet Kune Do Sparring
In JKD, Sparring generally has the following characteristics, as enumerated below:
A) There is no uniform. Shoes are worn for easy footwork.
B) The training is imparted in a backyard class - a garage, a terrace, a basement.
C) The sparring is with gloves & at times with full body protection.
D) Sparring is taught systematically and student is actually taken through various stages of training in order to be able to fight.
E) Sparring is with complete supervision and safety is always maintained at any cost.
F) Fighting is at all ranges - includes kicking, boxing, trapping, Knee - Elbow arts, grappling & groundwork & weaponry like sticks, staffs & knives.
G) Flowing from one art to another - Choi Lee Fut Kicks, Savate, Boxing, Wing Chun, Kali, Thai boxing, Western wrestling, Judo, Ju Jitsu & Aikido along with Greco Roman, Filipino & Judo groundfighting is encouraged.
H) All modern fighting methods may be incorporated in principle- BJJ - Brazilian ju jitsu, Silat, MMA -Mixed Martial Arts, Submission wrestling, Here at Mumbai, India we offer you the opportunity of learning many martial arts and interacting with Black belts from various styles.
I) There are no weight categories or Gender differentiations.
J) Sparring is NO HOLDS BARRED permitting Anything and Everything that works.
